Lucky Green Tea Painting

In Japanese culture, it is said to be lucky if a tea leaf floats upright in your tea. I painted this in acrylic on canvas, and the painting now hangs in our living room. I’ve grown up drinking tea out of cups like these, the heat from the tea passing into the palms of my hands. It’s a warm, happy painting that reminds us how lucky we are… Oh, and it is also home to Hello Kitty.
