COMPETITION HAS ENDED. You could win $20 to spend on ceramic handmade buttons by FULTON & CO. Details below. I’m having lots of fun decorating our new pad in Hayes Valley, San Francisco. This means furniture shopping, stocking up on kitsch nick nacks at thrift stores and of course, making soft furnishings! My pink Brother XL2610 Free-Arm Sewing Machine just arrived from Amazon so I am planning all the things I’m going to sew to decorate our new home. I plan to make a room divider curtain to separate the kitchen from the living room, maybe using button curtain tabs. In Japan, this type of curtain is called a “Noren”; you may have seen it in Japanese restaurant doorways. (Image sources L to R clockwise: curbly.com, sandgasa.exblog.jp and bellemaison.jp x 3) Speaking of buttons, Sarah from FULTON & CO has kindly offered a giveaway to Sew in Love readers. Her Etsy store sells beautiful ceramic handmade buttons. I think they are wonderfully understated and elegant. Their natural colours would be perfect for my apartment’s colour scheme. Being handmade, the buttons have lots of rustic character too. Sarah is giving away $20 to spend on your favourite button style from her Etsy store.
