A weekend at a spa or a beach getaway aren’t bad, but I’ve just experienced the ULTIMATE weekend away. Jamboree South Coast was a 3 day event, jam-packed with craft classes, delicious meals, yummy treats and soulful music. I totally immersed myself in learning new crafts and making friends with fellow sewing nerds. I never realised until now, how energising it is to dedicate a weekend solely to creativity. For creative souls like you and me, it’s so important (and healing) to nurture our need to make things.
I’ve always been curious to try Stylearc patterns. My favourite style of cardigan is a long, open front cardigan. When I saw Stylearc’s Simone cardigan, with its drapey pockets and longer back, I had to give it a go!
I hosted the #ilovemystash photo-a-day challenge last month, and wow, it was so much fun! If you posted one of the 800+ photos of your fabric stash, thank you so much. I loved watching my Instagram feed fill up with one of my biggest obsessions – beautiful fabric!
I’m totally addicted to linen at the moment, especially the soft, drapey kind by Merchant and Mills. I never knew linen could feel so silky until I got my hands on this fabric – courtesy of the exciting new online fabric store, Selvage.
I finally got a long desk for my sewing machine and serger to sit next to each other – permanently. This is a big change from one year ago, when we lived in a studio apartment in San Francisco. Our tiny dining table was my sewing table / kitchen bench / work desk. You’ll see lots more serger projects on Sew in Love now 🙂
