I love scrolling through Instagram, but my account has been looking rather sad of late. I was lying in bed the other night thinking, “Damn, I forgot to post something on Instagram AGAIN!” I’m thinking about sewing and crafts everyday – so why is it so hard to remember to take a photo and share something on social media?
One of the reasons I love Japanese sewing patterns is their simplicity. The clean lines are perfect for showcasing beautiful fabrics, whether it’s a printed silk or a plain organic linen. Today’s I’ve put together my top Japanese sewing patterns so you can finally use that too-pretty-to-cut fabric hiding in your stash!
Barcelona shopping is not famous for fabric, but when on vacation, I love seeking out local textiles. It’s so much fun to explore traders markets and fabric stores, looking for artisan handiworks which play an important role in the culture and economy of the region. I also love the fact that fabric stores are off the tourist track. You get to be part of the local scene and escape touristy shopping – such a relief when you are in a travel hotspot like Barcelona!
Hi everyone! After a hectic Me-Made-May, I’ve been trying to catch up on sewing projects. Who am I kidding, I’m ALWAYS trying to catch up on sewing projects, haha. I finally got around to making a pillow for our lounge room. The pillow is nothing complicated, but I wanted to share it with you because the fabric is just so gorgeous.
I tried my best to take part in Me-Made-May last month, documenting all the handmade clothes I wore. But May turned out to be a crazy month, including moving house and then travelling to Europe! So I didn’t manage to wear a handmade item every single day (like on moving day for example), but I did learn a lot about my personal style and what items I would like to add to my handmade wardrobe.
